Crusty Rib Eye Steak with Truffle Butter
So simple but delicious! A dish that is easy to make but easily impresses!
Ingredients:
500g rib eye steak on the bone
sea salt flakes
grapeseed oil
truffle butter
Method:
- Let steak stand for 30 minutes at room temperature, pat dry with paper towel
- Sprinkle sea salt flakes on steak and rub grapeseed oil into the meat
- Heat pan (I used my debuyer carbon steel pan - conducts heat really well) on high, add steak for 30 secs and turn heat down to medium. Cook steak on both sides for 3-5 minutes until a nice crust forms (this should be medium-rare)
- Remove steak from pan and rest covered for 10 minutes
- Add steak back to the pan and sear on medium high heat for 30 sec - 1 minute on each side with a knob of plain butter, ensuring you coat the steak with the melted butter.
- Serve steak with a knob of truffle butter on top
